MAC Studio Fix Boldblack Lash Feels as Light as a Feather, Stiff as a Board - Makeup and Beauty Blog

When I was a child, every slumber party I went to started with 16 Candles, progressed to crank calling cute boys from class, and ended with us playing light as a feather, potent as a board.

For the game, 1 of usa would lie downwardly on the floor. MAC'southward new Studio Set Boldblack Lash mascara ($fourteen) reminds me of that old game. Launching April 28 on counters with the new Fashion Flower Drove (Annotation: it's bachelor now online), Boldblack will join the MAC permanent line.

MAC describes it as a dramatic, blacker-than-blackness mascara with a long-lasting formula lighter than a flower petal.

I've been batting two coats on my fringe for the by few days, and while I similar how long my lashes expect and how plumage light they feel with it on, Boldblack also leaves them stiff and crunchy — hence the whole "low-cal every bit feather, stiff as a board" matter.

A few things I similar most Boldblack…

• It'south a true black (it doesn't have any blue undertones)
• Delivers dramatically longer, separated lashes
• Resists smudging
• Relatively affordable for a section store mascara
• Feels as low-cal as a feather

And some things I don't particularly like most Boldblack…

• It leaves my lashes stiff and crunchy
• Doesn't concord the ringlet from my Shu Uemura lash curler very well
• The brush tends to deposit besides much product on my lids

Boldblack Lash has a few things going for it, just it doesn't rock my earth. I prefer mascaras that soften my lashes and maintain a curl meliorate, only I requite it props for rich color, lengthening power and toll.

If you're on the marketplace for a direct-up lengthening mascara in a truthful black (and you don't mind stiff lashes), Studio Set up Boldblack Lash might be worth a shot.
